NOTE: Pakajo sends recipients a delivery email that the shipment has been delivered or is ready for collection at the parcel shop!

Customs content declaration

For international shipping outside the EU, a customs declaration is of great importance. This statement informs customs officials of the content and value of your package. The information in the customs content declaration is used to calculate the country-specific import sales taxes and duties, which must then be paid by the recipient.

In order to make customs processing smooth, it is important to fill out the corresponding CN 23 customs declaration for parcel shipping outside the EU. Attach the document clearly visible to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. However, when sending by post, the CN 22 customs declaration must be used. In any case, the customs declaration for shipping to Macau should be on the address page of your shipment.

Please note that the customs declaration must be completed for shipping to Macau, the world language English. This ensures smooth processing by the customs authorities to Macau. Make sure that all information is correct and complete to avoid delays or problems with delivery.

In addition, when shipping via parcel services such as UPS or DHL, you also need a commercial invoice in English. It informs customs officials about your goods, the entire shipping process and you as the sender. Please attach the commercial invoice to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. The commercial invoice must be affixed to the package in 3 copies.

TIP: Also include a commercial invoice in the package to be on the safe side.

Macau is a special administrative region of China and has its own customs and tax system. In principle, there are no customs duties on most goods imported into Macau. Exceptions apply only to certain product groups, such as tobacco products, alcoholic beverages and motor vehicles. These products are subject to special taxation. All other goods can generally be imported duty-free, unless they are prohibited or controlled goods. There is no import sales tax or value added tax in Macau. This means that no additional duties are charged when importing goods, as is usual in many other countries. This regulation makes Macau a very attractive location for the movement of goods from a tax perspective.

Although Macau is very generous in tax terms, the usual customs formalities must still be met when importing goods. This includes the correct declaration of the value of the goods and the addition of invoices or information about the nature of the shipment. For larger or unusual goods, it is advisable to check with Macau Customs, the Macao Customs Service, in advance about possible permits or restrictions.

There is also no special gift tax. Gifts between private individuals are tax-free. However, if gifts are sent that fall into one of the duty-subject categories, such as cigarettes or alcohol, the corresponding duties are due. When sending gifts, it is advisable to declare them as such to avoid possible delays at customs.
