Shipments within Réunion are usually delivered in 2-4 working days, depending on the region, express shipments within 1-3 days. It takes 3-14 days from other European countries, 4-20 days from the USA, 4-25 days from Asia — depending on the shipping method and service provider.

In Réunion, Monday to Friday are considered working days. However, public holidays — regional or nationwide — can cause delays. In particular, moving holidays such as Ascension Day or Corpus Christi fall on different Thursdays every year.

There you will receive all status information — including a link to the respective shipping service provider for live tracking of your shipment.

Tracking via AFTERSHIP

You can also track your Pakajo shipments on aftership. You can find Pakajo as a shipping service in the Aftership portal. The Aftership app also offers very good shipment tracking, which informs you of any current shipping status. With aftership, you can enter your pakajo tracking numbers and track your shipments as follows: UPG-123456/UPG123456 or 123456. Of course, you can also track your shipments using the final shipment numbers of the respective shipping providers, such as Deutsche Post, DHL, DPD, Post NL, bpost and many others.

NOTE: Pakajo sends recipients a delivery email that the shipment has been delivered or is ready for collection at the parcel shop!

Customs content declaration

For international shipping outside the EU, a customs declaration is of great importance. This statement informs customs officials of the content and value of your package. The information in the customs content declaration is used to calculate the country-specific import sales taxes and duties, which must then be paid by the recipient.

In order to make customs processing smooth, it is important to fill out the corresponding CN 23 customs declaration for parcel shipping outside the EU. Attach the document clearly visible to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. However, when sending by post, the CN 22 customs declaration must be used. In any case, the customs declaration for shipping to Réunion should be on the address page of your shipment.

Please note that the customs declaration must be completed for shipping to Réunion, the world language English. This ensures smooth processing by the customs authorities to Réunion. Make sure that all information is correct and complete to avoid delays or problems with delivery.

In addition, when shipping via parcel services such as UPS or DHL, you also need a commercial invoice in English. It informs customs officials about your goods, the entire shipping process and you as the sender. Please attach the commercial invoice to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. The commercial invoice must be affixed to the package in 3 copies.

TIP: Also include a commercial invoice in the package to be on the safe side.

La Réunion is a French overseas department and belongs politically to France, but has a special position in the tax and customs sector. Shipments from the European Union, in particular from mainland France, are generally not subject to traditional customs duties, but local import duties such as the so-called Octroi de Mer may be charged. This tax is a regional consumption tax and is calculated depending on the type of goods and the value of the goods. In addition, certain goods may be subject to a local value added tax, which is different from the value added tax in mainland France. For shipments from non-EU countries, the regular customs regulations apply, so that in addition to the Octroi de Mer, customs duties and other taxes may also apply. The basis for calculation is usually the value of the goods, including shipping costs.

Gift shipments to La Réunion are also subject to customs checks. Even if a shipment is declared as a gift, this does not automatically mean that it is exempt from duties. The actual value of the goods and the type of goods contained are decisive. Gifts may be subject to Octroi de Mer and, where applicable, other duties, in particular when it comes to new, high-quality or commercial goods. Incomplete or unrealistically low values may result in additional demands, delays or the return of the shipment.
