Customs documents & regulations for shipping to Morocco

Customs content declaration

For international shipping outside the EU, a customs declaration is of great importance. This statement informs customs officials of the content and value of your package. The information in the customs content declaration is used to calculate the country-specific import sales taxes and duties, which must then be paid by the recipient.

In order to make customs processing smooth, it is important to fill out the corresponding CN 23 customs declaration for parcel shipping outside the EU. Attach the document clearly visible to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. However, when sending by post, the CN 22 customs declaration must be used. In any case, the customs declaration for shipping to Morocco should be on the address page of your shipment.

Please note that the customs declaration must be completed for shipping to Morocco, the world language English. This ensures smooth processing by the customs authorities to Morocco. Make sure that all information is correct and complete to avoid delays or problems with delivery.

COMMERCIAL INVOICE

In addition, when shipping via parcel services such as UPS or DHL, you also need a commercial invoice in English. It informs customs officials about your goods, the entire shipping process and you as the sender. Please attach the commercial invoice to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. The commercial invoice must be affixed to the package in 3 copies.

TIP: Also include a commercial invoice in the package to be on the safe side.

Customs duties & import sales tax

In Mali, the import of goods is generally subject to customs and tax regulations. The amount of customs duties depends on the type of imported goods and their declared value. Many everyday consumer goods are subject to moderate tariff rates, while luxury products, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products or vehicles are charged with higher duties. In addition to customs duties, an import sales tax is charged, which is in line with the value added tax system. This tax is calculated on the customs value, which includes the value of the goods, including transport and insurance costs up to the border.

CUSTOMS ON GIFT SHIPMENTS

There is no special gift tax for gifts in Mali. Small shipments of gifts from private individuals to private individuals can therefore often be imported without additional charges, provided that they do not exceed certain value limits. If the gifts exceed these limits or are goods that are generally subject to customs duties or taxes, gifts are also subject to the usual customs duties and import sales tax. It is important that shipments are correctly declared and that the actual value of the goods is stated in order to avoid delays in customs clearance.

For larger or more valuable shipments, it is advisable to obtain information in advance from the Malian customs authorities or from the shipping service provider in order to know exactly the fees and formalities involved and to ensure smooth processing. To obtain service providers so that the costs and formalities involved are clear and the processing can take place smoothly.
