NOTE: Pakajo sends recipients a delivery email that the shipment has been delivered or is ready for collection at the parcel shop!

Customs content declaration

For international shipping outside the EU, a customs declaration is of great importance. This statement informs customs officials of the content and value of your package. The information in the customs content declaration is used to calculate the country-specific import sales taxes and duties, which must then be paid by the recipient.

In order to make customs processing smooth, it is important to fill out the corresponding CN 23 customs declaration for parcel shipping outside the EU. Attach the document clearly visible to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. However, when sending by post, the CN 22 customs declaration must be used. In any case, the customs declaration for shipping to Lichtenstein should be affixed to the address page of your shipment.

Please note that the customs declaration must be completed for shipping to Lichtenstein, the world language English. This ensures smooth processing by the customs authorities to Lichtenstein. Make sure that all information is correct and complete to avoid delays or problems with delivery.

Liechtenstein is a member of the European Economic Area but not part of the European Union, and has close tariff and tax agreements with Switzerland. When importing goods to Liechtenstein, there are generally customs duties and, if applicable, import sales taxes. The amount of customs duties depends on the type of goods and their customs tariff. Many consumer goods, in particular everyday products, are duty-free, while certain goods, such as alcohol, tobacco, luxury goods or vehicles, are subject to corresponding duties.

In addition to customs duties, imported goods are usually subject to an import sales tax, which is similar to value added tax. This tax is calculated on the customs value of the goods, i.e. on the value of the goods including transport and insurance costs up to the border with Liechtenstein. The import sales tax is currently the same rate as the regular value added tax that is applied in Liechtenstein.

There is no special gift tax in Liechtenstein for gifts between private individuals. Small gifts that have a low value can therefore usually be imported without additional charges. However, if gifts exceed certain value limits or fall under the categories of dutiable goods, both customs duties and import sales tax are due.

When importing goods and gifts, it is important to fill out the declaration correctly and state the actual value of the goods. Inaccurate information may result in delays or additional checks by customs. For larger or more valuable shipments, it is advisable to obtain information from the Liechtenstein Customs Administration in advance in order to clarify possible fees and necessary formalities.
