Pakajo offers 3-in-1 tracking numbers

Pakajo start tracking

When you create the shipment, a Pakajo tracking number (such as UPG-123456) is automatically generated. On request, the recipient will immediately receive a confirmation of processing. With the UPG number, he can track his shipment directly on the Pakajo page — even for shipments without shipment tracking.
Pakajo Final Tracking

As soon as the shipment arrives at the Pakajo fulfillment center, it is confirmed by the system and receives a new nine-digit number (e.g. 113456789). This is linked to the UPG number, all shipping data is added — the recipient now sees that the shipment is on its way and can then track it in real time.

After processing, the shipping service provider's final tracking number is also assigned (e.g. LY..., 0034...). As soon as the shipping service scans the shipment, a blue button appears in the tracker with a direct link to the shipment tracking with the respective provider.
Tracking via AFTERSHIP

Of course, you can also track your shipments using the final shipment numbers of the respective shipping providers, such as Deutsche Post, DHL, DPD, Post NL, bpost and many others.

NOTE: Pakajo sends recipients a delivery email that the shipment has been delivered or is ready for collection at the parcel shop!

documents

Customs documents & regulations for shipping to Egypt

Customs content declaration

For international shipping outside the EU, a customs declaration is of great importance. This statement informs customs officials of the content and value of your package. The information in the customs content declaration is used to calculate the country-specific import sales taxes and duties, which must then be paid by the recipient.

In order to make customs processing smooth, it is important to fill out the corresponding CN 23 customs declaration for parcel shipping outside the EU. Attach the document clearly visible to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. However, when sending by post, the CN 22 customs declaration must be used. In any case, the customs declaration for shipping to Egypt should be on the address page of your shipment.

Please note that the customs declaration for shipping to Egypt must be completed in the world language English. This ensures smooth processing by the Egyptian customs authorities. Make sure that all information is correct and complete to avoid delays or problems with delivery.

COMMERCIAL INVOICE

In addition, when shipping via parcel services such as UPS or DHL, you also need a commercial invoice in English. It informs customs officials about your goods, the entire shipping process and you as the sender. Please attach the commercial invoice to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. The commercial invoice must be affixed to the package in 3 copies.

TIP: Also include a commercial invoice in the package to be on the safe side.

Customs duties & import sales tax

Before shipping to Egypt, inform your customers that there are costs for customs processing and import sales tax. These costs are collected by the recipient. Note that the amount of costs always depends on the details of the customs declaration and can therefore vary significantly.

Depending on the value of your parcel shipment to Egypt, you need either the CN 22 form or the CN 23 form for the customs content declaration. The limit here is around 350€ or more precisely 300 SDR (special drawing rights, comparative figure for the four most important international currencies).

As soon as the value of a shipment exceeds 1,000€ or 1,000 USD, it is automatically considered a commodity in Egypt. In this case, additional customs formalities are required: In Europe, an export declaration must be made and in Egypt, customs have required registration via the so-called ACI system (Advanced Cargo Information) since 2021. An ACID number is required for each shipment, without which the goods will not be released.

Commercial goods are also subject to regular customs and tax duties. Depending on the product group, the duty rate varies between 0 and 60%. In addition, Egypt levies an import sales tax (VAT), which in most cases amounts to 14%, but can also be 8% for individual product groups. A small African Union levy of 0.2% is also charged on the total value (CIF = value of goods + transport + insurance).

CUSTOMS ON GIFT SHIPMENTS

Private shipments and gifts can remain duty free if their value is less than 1,000 USD and they are clearly declared as non-commercial. Is the value higher or is a commercial purpose assumed → normal customs clearance.

Goods excluded from shipping to Egypt

When sending, look for content that is not approved or heavily regulated. These include:
  • narcotics
  • Dual-use goods (can be used for civil & military purposes)
  • cultural assets (e.g. antiques, art)
  • explosives
  • Weapons and ammunition
  • Antiquities, historically or religiously significant artifacts
  • honey
  • Imitations/counterfeit branded goods
  • Electronic cigarettes
Important: The respective laws and customs regulations of the recipient country must be observed, especially with regard to products and topics relating to eroticism, pornography, sexuality and/or religion or religious criticism.

Important notes & sources of information

Responsibility for this lies exclusively with the sender. Only the generally applicable German customs regulations are presented in this document. Please be sure to be aware of these restrictions to avoid issues when shipping to Egypt. A careful review of the content and compliance with applicable regulations will help ensure that your package arrives without any problems. If you are unsure whether you can ship your goods to Egypt, it is advisable to get comprehensive information from the Egyptian customs authority.

In addition to German customs, the embassies or consular offices of Egypt can provide information on questions regarding customs and other import and export regulations. Other sources of information include foreign trade offices and the respective chambers of industry and commerce.
