TRACKING

With Pakajo, you can track your packages in various ways. We'll show you how.

Tracking via the Pakajo site

As a Pakajo partner, you can easily track your shipments via the dashboard. Under “Shipment overview,” you can see a graph of your last 14 days — you can adjust the time period flexibly. Clicking on the graphic takes you to the detailed view. Alternatively, simply enter the shipment number directly into the shipment tracking. There you will receive all status information — including a link to the respective shipping service provider for live tracking of your shipment.

Pakajo offers 3-in-1 tracking numbers

Pakajo start tracking

When you create the shipment, a Pakajo tracking number (such as UPG-123456) is automatically generated. On request, the recipient will immediately receive a confirmation of processing. With the UPG number, he can track his shipment directly on the Pakajo page — even for shipments without shipment tracking.
Pakajo Final Tracking

As soon as the shipment arrives at the Pakajo fulfillment center, it is confirmed by the system and receives a new nine-digit number (e.g. 113456789). This is linked to the UPG number, all shipping data is added — the recipient now sees that the shipment is on its way and can then track it in real time.

After processing, the shipping service provider's final tracking number is also assigned (e.g. LY..., 0034...). As soon as the shipping service scans the shipment, a blue button appears in the tracker with a direct link to the shipment tracking with the respective provider.
Tracking via AFTERSHIP

You can also track your Pakajo shipments on aftership. You can find Pakajo as a shipping service in the Aftership portal. The Aftership app also offers very good shipment tracking, which informs you of any current shipping status. With aftership, you can enter your pakajo tracking numbers and track your shipments as follows: UPG-123456/UPG123456 or 123456. Of course, you can also track your shipments using the final shipment numbers of the respective shipping providers, such as Deutsche Post, DHL, DPD, Post NL, bpost and many others.

NOTE: Pakajo sends recipients a delivery email that the shipment has been delivered or is ready for collection at the parcel shop!

Customs documents & regulations for shipping to Bouvent Island

Customs content declaration

For Bouvent Island, a customs declaration in classic form, as with regular parcels to populated countries, is not required. Since the island is uninhabited and there is no regular postal supply, there are also no standardized customs processes on site. Instead, all goods transported to Bouvet Island are already collected in Norway, tested and loaded onto research vessels via the responsible authority — usually the Norwegian Polar Institute.

If shipments are destined for an expedition, the customs declaration must therefore be made in Norway. In this declaration, all items intended for research or supply must be listed in detail. This includes the exact description of the goods, their quantity, value, weight and the purpose of use. In contrast to private parcels, the customs content declaration in this case is used less to calculate import duties, but more for logistical planning, compliance with safety regulations and to protect the island's sensitive ecosystem.

It is particularly important that no prohibited or environmentally harmful goods are listed, as Bouvet Island is a strictly protected nature reserve. The customs declaration thus becomes an instrument of transparency and control which ensures that only approved materials such as scientific equipment, technical equipment or approved supplies are transported.

Customs duties & import sales tax

Bouvet Island is an uninhabited area in the South Atlantic Ocean belonging to Norway. Since there is no population and no regular infrastructure there, there are no traditional import regulations for the normal movement of goods. There is therefore no regular collection of customs duties or import sales tax, as is known from inhabited countries. All deliveries to the island are made exclusively as part of scientific expeditions or government missions and are organized centrally by Norwegian authorities, usually the Norwegian Polar Institute.

CUSTOMS ON GIFT SHIPMENTS

Gift shipments are not possible in the usual sense, as no private individuals live on the island and there is no provision for delivery by post. Should materials or personal items be required for expedition members, these must be coordinated via logistics in Norway and brought aboard supply ships before the trip begins.

Goods excluded from shipment to Bouvent Island

When sending, look for content that is not approved or heavily regulated. These include:
  • narcotics
  • Dual-use goods (can be used for civil & military purposes)
  • cultural assets (e.g. antiques, art)
  • explosives
  • Weapons and ammunition
  • Psychotropic substances
  • ALCOHOL, TOBACCO PRODUCTS
  • FOODS, LIVE ANIMALS, CERTAIN PLANTS AND SEEDS
Important: The respective laws and customs regulations of the recipient country must be observed, especially with regard to products and topics relating to eroticism, pornography, sexuality and/or religion or religious criticism.
